New Blog!
Okay, I've calmed down, after a hospital stint for 12 days, and 6 weeks of outpatient therapy. I've still got a lot of recovery work to do and things to heal from and places to go that may be dark and emotionally scary. But, wow, I'm so blessed, I've got so much support and love from people all around. I had meals come to me magically for over a month from friends, and I'm not driving yet get everywhere I need to go from all kinds of friends! So, thank you for your prayers and support. I certainly can use them.
I do struggle with anxiety, and it's hard to know, am I manic, or anxious, or nervous, or actually calm somehow. I'm sleeping alright, I wish it was always a consecutive 8 hours, but it seems I wake up to go the bathroom. Usually I fall back asleep, but sometimes my mind goes and I get up to journal or write a song, something quiet. It worries mom obviously when my light goes on. I really don't want to go back to the hospital again unless I have to. I am hoping the tools I'm gathering at the day program right now, as I put them into use, will really help me avoid that in the future. And with my insurance, if I need to go to the day program again for a season in the future, I can.
I'm really thankful to have so many healthy people to help me out in my life. But, if you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed by life, please get support. If you need a hospital, go to Baptist, it's superior to Novant these days. Been to both, and heard stories about both, no comparison. If you don't need the hospital, but need more support, check out Novant's Partial Hospitalization Program. It's the only choice in Winston-Salem, I wish everyone's insurance covered it. Mine didn't but miraculously Biden signed something that allowed me to change my plan just in time. (I know, no one could believe he might do something right, he's doing practically everything so wrong these days!) Or find a good support group at your church that meets regularly. Or find a good counselor. Or find a good friend who will let you take your mask off, both literally and figuratively. :) But, take care of yourself, you never know when God will use you to take care of a manic friend like me!
Special thanks to Virginia Castillejo and Anna Watkins (shoot is that your married name?) for sending me beautiful cards with special verses to memorize. They meant a lot. If you ever feel inspired to write me a special note, don't delay! My address is:

Also, I've written letters that need to go out, but ran out of stamps, and if you write me, I'll try to write you back as well! I really love good snail mail! When I get stamps and have time, I'll write. :)
Blessings again to all who've prayed and supported my family during this time. My new blog, I'll try to be more encouraging with messages. The first ones are a bit challenging, but I'll get to encouraging messages soon I promise. :) Not all at once this time! I've gotta pace myself, there's too much to do! :) Keep praying, I've got a lot of mountains that need to fly into the sea!
Keep your armor on friends. We'll only win this war if we're secure in Christ!
